It’s really amazing how my children, Miles and Selah, have forever changed my perspective of the world. I never truly understood what it meant to live for someone else until becoming a mom. After the birth of my daughter Selah, I was inspired to right size our finances and eliminated debt in 16 months. After Miles was born and eczema began causing havoc with his skin, I was inspired to make vegan and organic skin care.
So why not use animal fats in our soaps? Quite honestly, it is more of a personal choice since our son’s skin is extremely sensitive. Miles’ soap has no colors, fragrances, essential oils, or animal fats. Can you use our soaps if you do not have eczema? Absolutely! We cater some soaps specifically for those with sensitive skin but even these soaps can be used by all skin types.
Today, we’re going to highlight one of Miles’ favorite bars since it has tons of bubbles… 100% Coconut Oatmeal Soap. Our pure coconut oil bar produces a high lather which Miles loves in the tub. We ground pure whole grain oats, also known as colloidal oatmeal, and add them to the soap. Colloidal oatmeal is a natural anti-inflammatory, eases itching, and soothes dry, rough skin. According to Dr. Rachel Nazarian, a dermatologist in New York City, “You can add oats to bath water which can be quite soothing to skin suffering from eczema and rarely causes allergy.”
